On the 29 June 2010 the trilateral Investment Agreement was signed at the Representative Office of Kaluga Regional Government. The aim is the successful realization of the construction of the packaging plastic film plant for Rani Plast Company in Kaluga Region on the territory of the Lemminkäinen Industrial Park. The Agreement signed on behalf of the Kaluga Regional Government the Governor of Kaluga Region Anatoliy Artamonov, on behalf of investor company Rani Plast Ltd the Russia Project Manager Juha Hakala in the presence of the Managing Director of Rani Plast Ltd Mikael Ahlbäck, and on behalf of Lemminkäinen, the owner of I-Park and the developer at the same time, the Managing Director of Lemcon Invest Alexander Pitukhin.
In frames of the Agreement the Kaluga Regional Government undertakes to comprehensively assist the realization of the project within the development of the Lemminkäinen Groups Industrial park.
The packaging film plant to be constructed for Rani Plast will consist of 5,400 m2 of floor space, located on a 2.3-hectare site. The plant will be completed by the end of 2011.
- The EUR 20 million project is a major investment in the future and one of the biggest in Rani Plast's over 50-year history. Our goal is to produce high-quality polyethylene films for Russian converting and packaging industries, as such production does not yet exist to any significant extent in Russia. The long-term goal is to attain the status of the leading films supplier in Russia's fast-growing markets, explains Mikael Ahlbäck, Managing Director, Ab Rani Plast Oy.
The project of Rani Plast plant marks the new stage in the development of the Industrial park Lemminkäinen. Lemminkäinen started to prepare the project of the industrial park in Kaluga region at the end of year 2007. For today the area for the first stage of development which is 135 hectares owned by the Group is completely ready for the quick implementation of industrial and logistics construction projects. The Industrial park is ready to provide its residents with all required infrastructure with the connections on the boarder of the investors land plot.
- Thus we are completing the preconstruction stage and enter on the active stage of the further development and construction of our industrial park. We are glad that the foreign manufacturers and logistic operators take a consistently growing interest to I-Park Lemminkäinen.
